Wow, Eric rocked Sacramento last night, and tonight he's in San Francisco. Before taking off this morning, he stopped by FOX40 and jammed out with us on our morning show. Check out our awesome videos here, including Eric's "Food Chain" sound check:

Thank you for the link! :)
During the Food Chain video... what is with that face after "no one could have scripted this"? Haha!

Ok. I am going to try and move this to the media area.

No idea, but boy did it make the video! Eric is the nicest guy, and his show in Sacramento easily was the best I've ever seen. His show was awesome. I hope he continues to play small venues like that one, though I can see in a few years he'll be rocking to sold-out crowds.

I really hope he starts playing sold out shows soon.Well, not completely sold out. I really just want to start seeing some headlining shows. He hasn't played any in Texas yet that I know of.

Thank you again for the link. Fun stuff!

Thanks for the link. I think we are hopeless fans when we even enjoy watching a sound check!!! Who was the interviewer who claimed to be a "big fan" and called him Eric Hutchins???

Danielle, I agree, the Stevie Wonder-type of head roll was cute.

Thanks for posting the link Soundwave Guy. Always fun to see him interviewed, and glad to hear he is getting good exposure and such great reviews!

Patti: The reporter interviewing Eric "Hutchins"on was Darsha Philips of FOX40 Live. In the heat of the moment, reporters tend to skew names and places and stuff like that, especially when they have a producer or director talking in their ear while they're talking with their interview (it happens ALL THE TIME in television, watch morning news a little more closely sometime and you'll see it...).

Darsha is a huge fan of Eric. I gave her a burned copy of "Sounds Like This" (don't worry -- Eric was told, and I bought a legit copy for Darsha to have Eric sign). Darsha once called me at five in the morning, ecstatic that she heard Eric playing on a local radio station in Sacramento.

And I was the guy who filmed most of the widescreen video, including the soundcheck. There's a piece of video I haven't uploaded yet -- Eric signing Darsha's arm...my favorite moment, by far, is when Eric starts jamming out on the piano after saying "Just look around..." during the aircheck. I wish he had kept that up. I wish I could have captured seven minutes of just that. That was more than awesome...it gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.

Eric really is a great sport (so are Jimmy and Tom, his drummer and bassist respectively). An hour before the club opened where we saw him perform, we listened to his sound check outside the club. At the FOX40 Live performance the next day, he chatted with us and joked around, though I could tell he was really tired from the night before. Eric is just amazing, unbelievable talent. You can check out my review on Eric, posted today, at the link at the top of this thread.

Big thanks to Judi Kerr, Eric's booking agent, for all her help and support in making this moment possible.

I didn't mean to trash the interviewer. It just sounded funny to me. Actually, no, I don't watch much TV, morning new or ever except for the occasional sporting event.

I do enjoy reading your posts and your stories about Eric behind the scenes. Thanks, keep 'em coming.
