Check out the Internet Archive if you have not. It has a good amount of live music. A lot of Eric's older music can be found there from live shows. Some are mp3, and some are FLAC files.

Are we allowed to talk about this?
It says in the FAQs

9. File Trading/Bootlegs: Discussion of how and where to obtain bootleg (illegally recorded) audios or videos is not allowed. Direct links to such files will be removed promptly and threads will be closed if it gets out of hand. Please keep such discussion segregated to private messages. If you're unsure whether or not something is a bootleg, here's a simple rule of thumb - if someone sitting in the audience recorded it, it's a bootleg. Officially recorded aired on television, radio, etc are perfectly acceptable. If you're still unsure, do not hesitate to contact a mod asking whether or not the audio/video you'd like to post is an illegal recording. This is both out of respect for Eric and any other performers, as well as to conform to all applicable copyright laws.

Eric had at one point given his permission to the internet archive to use those recordings, so they are not technically bootlegs. I would guess they would probably be classified as copyrighted material used with permission.

I think there is a letter on that website somewhere where Tyler had sent in to the webiste an email Eric wrote to him allowing him to share the files.
Iwill try and find it. I think it was Tyler??

Edit- It was Tyler! Here's the link to the email. http://www.archive.o.../EricHutchinson

But that was also before Warner Brothers. I wonder if Warner Brothers allows it. I just don't want anyone to get in trouble.

archieve.org (or the uploader) gets permission from the artists. most, if not all the music is older, and i believe warnes brothers has not right to them unless they are recorded on the new album, and even then i'm not sure. i'm just using logic to my thinking, so i could be wrong.

I don't know. There was an entire site of old Mraz music shut down by Atlantic records. It was albums from like 2000, most were even bootleg old songs like OlderLoverUndercover and stuff like that. They made the person shut down their site. But that's a completely different artist and management company. Our lovely admin may be able to help us though.

plus some of those shows are in MP3 format. Hmmmm.

danielle, before you do anything, ask jon or tyler. they'll know if they're still allowed or not. if they don't know try contacting eric's label or maybe eric through myspace. just don't panic, and tell me what they say so i could double check to make sure i have all the shows on archive before they're taken down. oh and it doesn't matter if they're in mp3 or not, mraz's official policy states no mp3, eric could have a different one that allows them like tristan.

oh, i know you don't want people to get into trouble, but if you don't say anything to anyone, who could it hurt?? but if you say something to someone, then you might take away a good thing. If warner brothers decides to take down the archive, where are we supposed to send new fans who like eric, but aren't sure they like him enough to buy the record? or how are we supposed to make mixes to hand out and shows when he's opening, or just because we want to?

i repeat before asking anyone in charge ask jon or tyler. i should text this too you before you do it...

first off, the mraz site was completely different than archieve.org. archieve.org gets permission before posting any songs and has hundreds of artists stuff. if warner bros. doesn't want eric's stuff on there, they should just remove his material and not shut down the entire site.

speaking of the mraz stuff. i have a lot of bootlegs and stuff from the ends before "waiting for my rocket to come". i have to say that the older stuff is so much better. it's not as produced and poppy. I have bought a bunch of mraz's stuff, but i mainly listen to the ones off of the old cds and the bootlegs.
